DESCRIPTION:The house at Clifton was built in 1785 — nine years after the Declaration of Independence\, and not far from the birthplace of George Washington. This July\, as America marks its 250th anniversary\, we’re opening this historic estate for a day that connects the land\, the lavender\, and the rich story of the Northern Neck and its role in shaping America. \nLavender & Legacy is a full summer day at Two Bees Lavender. Start in the fields\, where you’ll pick your own lavender and use our measuring gauge to build your harvest to take home. Then step inside: volunteers from the Lancaster County Historical Society will be guiding tours of our historic 1785 home\, and an archaeologist from Virginia’s Department of Historic Resources will be on site to share what the land itself has to tell us about the people who lived and worked here. \nCap the afternoon with a cool glass of lavender lemonade from The Salty Lemon\, and browse the farm store before ending your educational and entertaining day on the farm. It’s a day to slow down\, get your hands in the soil\, and feel the thread that runs from this ground all the way back to the founding of the country. \nTickets $25 – purchase here \nWhat’s included: \n\nA guided lavender picking experience in the field\nGuided historic house tours with Lancaster County Historical Society\n\nAlso on site: \n\nArchaeologist from the Virginia Department of Historic Resources\nThe Two Bees Lavender farm store\nLavender lemonade from The Salty Lemon (available for purchase)\nBook signing by local author J.
