Our Story

Following our passions, sharing the joy of lavender

The Northern Neck of Virginia is our happy place and we’re delighted to bring unique, locally crafted products, experiences, jobs, and tourism to our home.

Two Bees is a woman-owned business with a love for community-building. Look to us to create opportunities to learn and connect. We offer educational opportunities to grow and cook lavender and social events to connect with old friends and new.

Stacey and Kevin (Two Bees Lavender) each grew up on and around farms. Stacey in central Pennsylvania and Kevin in North Florida. Their path has taken them full circle, back to the farm. Here’s a closer look at their journey.

Through the years, Kevin had a long and successful career in telecommunications and data networking, while Stacey focused on keeping the household functioning, educating the two kids, and volunteering extensively in the community. Ironically, after moving to the bustling Northern Virginia suburbs in 2009, they rediscovered a love for rural lifestyle and growing things — especially cut flowers. This prompted them to purchase their first small farm, “Point of View”, a restoration project of a hand-hewn log house in Loudoun County Virginia.

On a whim, Kevin bought 30-some-odd lavender plants and planted them in the garden and they thrived. Kevin and Stacey’s love of lavender began in earnest from there. Their collection quickly expanded to over 300 lavender plants and fueled ideas of “what’s next” and “what could this become.”

They decided to sell the farm – largely driven by a desire to be closer to big water, escape the hustle and bustle, and continue to explore their budding love of lavender. Having visited the Northern Neck of Virginia to vacation and spend long weekends, they fell in love with the springtime views of canola fields in bright yellow bloom, corn and soybeans spreading across thousands of acres, and the Chesapeake Bay way of life. They quickly made new friends. The Northern Neck of Virginia was the place they wanted to be, and they were determined to restart their lavender adventure there.

At the time of the move, they had not found a farm suitable for growing lavender, so they bought a house in a subdivision and continued to search. Great friends Billy and Mary Pipkin gave them space at Ingram Bay Marina to start their lavender planting while continuing to search for a farm of their own.

Meanwhile, they continued to develop the business. Through mutual connections, they found Wild Plum Marketing, which has been a phenomenal partner, and they have become good friends who have shared our ups and downs over the past two years. With their guidance and the talents of Kat Reeves to create the brand artwork, they developed the Two Bees Lavender brand, which launched in the spring of 2024. Two Bees has also frequented local markets, finding great friends and receiving great responses to their products, and celebrated their first lavender harvest in the Northern Neck this year.

The buzz about Two Bees Lavender

Since 2018, Stacey Noll, our Lavender Whisperer, has been practicing floriculture, growing lavender, and cooking with lavender.

Together with her husband Kevin, they are members of the United States Lavender Growers Association, the Northern Neck Vegetable Growers Association, and the Virginia Farm Bureau. They bring the most responsible farming and production techniques to their business.

As stewards of their community, Stacey and Kevin are committed to clean living and sustainability.
