How long does fresh cut lavender last?
To keep your fresh lavender at its best, place about a half inch of water in your favorite vase. Replace the water everyday. After a few days remove the lavender from the water and dry it. You’ll continue to enjoy it!
What kinds of products are made from lavender?
All kinds of useful and wonderful things are made from or with lavender. Some of the most popular products are soaps, lotions, body sprays, massage oils, sachets, and candles.
Is lavender good for you?
Yes! Lavender can help calm you, help you sleep, and generally is enjoyed (so can be a great mood booster, too!)
What makes lavender calming?
Lavender has been shown to influence the part of the nervous system that helps us relax. This part of the nervous system controls things like heart rate, breathing, and hormone levels, all of which are linked to anxiety. Lavender can help calm these processes, bringing the body back to a more balanced and relaxed state.
When does lavender bloom?
Depending on the type, lavender can bloom in Spring, Summer, or Fall! Some plants bloom once; Others bloom repeatedly.
Check out our list of plant details in our “Types of Lavender” blog.
What kind of climate does lavender grow best in?
Lavender has a tolerance for heat and drought. Most plant types grow in Zones 5-9.
Is lavender hard to grow?
Lavender is not difficult to grow in your garden, but success is dependent on the right conditions. Lavender does not need heavy amounts of fertilizer. Lavender is tolerant of varying soil conditions, but does need well drained soil because it does not tolerate “wet feet”. Lavender also needs 6-8 hours of direct sunlight every day. See our “Lavender Growing Tips” for more help.
Do you sell culinary lavender?
Not at this time.
What kinds of lavender are used for cooking?
There are a variety of lavender plants that are a part of the rosemary family. See our “Types of Lavender” blog for more information.
