Handmade Lavender Weighted Quilt “Hopscotch Storytime”

Hopscotch Storytime is a handmade lavender weighted lap quilt with a patchwork cover full of fun. Two frames of scrappy squares, including rainbows, bicycles, bunnies, tools, pennants, and storybook favorites, sit on a soft gray background dotted with teddy bears and stars. An allover loop quilting pattern adds texture, and a pastel watercolor print in pink, teal, sage, and peach covers the back.

The name comes from both sides. The storybook prints on the front set the scene for storytime. Inside, the removable insert wears a bright turquoise print of hopping green frogs and holds flax seed and lavender buds for gentle weight and a soothing aroma. The insert slips in through a button-closure opening in the backing, and cotton corner ties keep it from shifting. Take the insert out to spot clean it, or wash the cover on its own.

The playful prints suit a reading corner, a playroom, or a cozy spot for a bedtime story. Each quilt is one of a kind.
