Summer at Two Bees Lavender: A Season of Bloom, Community, and New Beginnings

by | Aug 19, 2026 | News

Summer has a way of waking up the land at Clifton. And this year, it felt like the farm truly came alive. From the first lavender stems opening to the final sunset of our America’s 250th celebration, the season unfolded with a sense of wonder we’ll never forget. It was our first year hosting large‑scale events at Two Bees Lavender Farm at Clifton. We welcomed hundreds of guests to the farm and into the fields, which is just a prelude of what’s to come!

Throughout the spring and summer, community events and chamber gatherings helped us connect with neighbors, local businesses, and regional partners. These moments weren’t just about showcasing the farm; they were about building relationships, sharing our vision, and inviting others to be part of what’s growing here. The Northern Neck has a rich tradition of supporting small farms and artisan makers, and we’re grateful for every handshake, every conversation, and every new connection that helps strengthen that network.

The U‑Pick Weekends were where the magic began. Visitors wandered through rows of lavender, breathing in the quiet beauty of the farm and experiencing Clifton in its most vivid and fragrant form. Families explored the fields together, couples found peaceful corners for photos, and guests from near and far shared stories about what brought them to the Northern Neck. For us, meeting each visitor was a joy. Every conversation, every smile, and every “this is beautiful” reminded us why we grow lavender in the first place.

Then came Lavender & Legacy: A 250th Celebration, a milestone event that blended history, heritage, and bloom season into one unforgettable weekend. Guests toured the Clifton house and grounds, learning about the centuries‑old story of the estate and its place in Virginia’s coastal history. With the lavender fields as a backdrop for reflection and celebration, the day marked the official opening of our Farm Store, adding a new layer of excitement. Seeing people step inside for the first time, discovering our handcrafted lavender essentials, small‑batch goods, and locally inspired creations, was a moment we’ll always treasure.

The opening of the Farm Store is a huge milestone for Two Bees Lavender. Even when the lavender isn’t in bloom, the store gives visitors a reason to return, whether for handcrafted products, seasonal goods, or simply to enjoy the peaceful charm of Clifton. It’s a place where people can experience the farm year‑round, see what’s new, and get a glimpse of what’s coming next.

And speaking of what’s coming next, fall and winter are shaping up to be just as exciting. We’re preparing a lineup of hands‑on workshops that bring the creativity of the farm indoors: a Fall Centerpiece Class, a Christmas Wreath Workshop, and a Candle‑Making Class inspired by our signature lavender scents. These gatherings will offer guests a chance to learn, create, and enjoy the farm in a whole new way. More details are coming soon, but we can already feel the anticipation building.

As summer winds down, we’re filled with gratitude for the visitors who walked our fields, the community that welcomed us, and the energy that carried us through our first full season of events. Two Bees Lavender is growing, Clifton is buzzing with life, and the story of this farm is just beginning. We can’t wait to share the next chapter with you.
